Educator and entrepreneur with over 24 years’ experience in the world of hair, Melissa began a career in top salons across New York City working with celebrity clients and learning from the very best. When she returned home to Ireland, she built a thriving hair extension salon for 14 years before founding her multi award winning ‘Melissa Hayward Academy’ a fully accredited training provider transforming stylists and salon owners across Ireland, the UK and beyond. But Melissa’s story is much more then business, she is a proudly autistic woman who left school early. She understands what it feels like to face barriers and push through them anyway. She’s taken every challenge, turned it into a strength building an academy and community grounded in inclusivity, empowerment and opportunity. She now serves as the vice president of The Hair Dressing Council of Ireland.
